A new design – inspired by an old agricultural tool (which you can see on the last photo), handwoven of linen, and which I found in the barn upon moving to the 80 years old farm of Pál Berta and her family. This tool was used to sow grains: the farmer would keep the grain seeds in the two large pockets of this tool – one in the front and one in the back – and would spread the seeds evenly on the field.
The newly designed vest is building on this concept, it is woven of rough Carpathian sheep wool, dyed with walnut skins, and decorated with stripes woven of coloured linen. Sustainable, elegant, lightweight, practical.
